Overzicht
Mirato designed the new interior concept for Pega Systems Amsterdam on behalf of Vega Projects. Pega Systems specializes in the development of CRM and BPM software systems worldwide and operates in a highly competitive market. A market where professionals are scarce. That's why they recognized better than anyone the need for an inspiring workplace to attract and retain the right employees. Our challenge in this project was to combine the two different needs of the sales and engineering departments into one design.
ISSUE
To identify exactly what these two teams needed, we went through a research process. Listening, presenting choices and asking questions. Time in which they were able to specify what they need in a work environment. The wishes of the two departments were miles apart. Both departments have different needs and workflows. Engineers were looking for a fixed workplace with an occasional stand-up meeting room. Sales is a place to meet and call. To connect, meet and come together, we create a shared space.
CONCEPT
Based on Pega Systems' corporate identity, we came up with a concept that consists of the primary shapes; triangle, square and circle. Combined with yellow, orange and blue. By linking the different shapes and colors to a function in the room, it is clear what function the room has.
DESIGN
The color blue and the square stand for determination, concentration and stability. We linked this color to the (flex) workspace. People can focus here and are not easily distracted by other stimuli. The embracing circle and vibrant orange stand for creativity and collaboration. We linked these to the brainstorming areas in the building. These are the places where teams meet and where you are asked to be creative. The triangle and the color yellow stand for energy and active participation and we have therefore linked it to the meeting rooms. Encourage people not to sit back, but to participate in the meeting with energy.
